Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask by Glow Recipe: Our Take
We all want beautiful, supple and glowing skin- don’t we?
Let’s just say that when I first caught wind of this face mask I was instantly intrigued. It seemed like this could be it- this could be the holy grail of face masks! I was so excited to try it out that I snagged mine at Sephora and wasted no time putting it on my face not even an hour later.
I’m sure you’re all reading this post because you want to know the answer to the infamous question “does this product work?” Well, you’ve come to the right place!
Just to give a little bit of a time frame, I bought this product over 2 months ago and have been using it consistently so that I could get a fair trial of what this mask had to offer.
In a nutshell, this mask makes a few major claims. It is good for all skin types, provides radiant/hydrated skin, and smoothes your face! Sounds like a pretty good deal, am I right? Feel free to read the claims in full and purchase the products by clicking here.
Abby and I both have combo to oily skin and I’m typically not super acne prone, so I was interested to test out the claim that this product would work for all skin types.
Below I’m sharing with you all the 100% honest major takeaways of this product so you can decide if you want to own it, too!
First off, the mask comes with a cute little glass spoon. I LOVE THAT. Any product that comes with an applicator I consider a win-win situation. It makes it really easy to scoop out a small amount of product and apply it on your skin. The consistency is almost like a thin jelly serum. It’s cooling and also not sticky whatsoever. I personally love it!
This mask dries down clear and light which is amazing for people who dislike having heaving mud masks on their skin. Since this mask is made for sleeping, of course- I slept in it several times! I was worried that sleeping in a mask would be uncomfortable, but I didn’t even notice it and slept like a baby. It also says you can use the mask for a quick daily mask as well and I have enjoyed doing it that way, too. When it’s time to rinse the mask off you can expect a nice, simple clean up and it washes right away in a couple of seconds. Oh, and I’m sure you’re all wanting to know if it actually smells like watermelon- YES! It smells heavenly.
Many of you may or may not know that Abby and I are simple skin care type of people. Unless a product really produces results, we won’t add it into our skin care routine at the end of an already busy day.
With that being said, we have loved this mask and have adopted it into our skin care routines! The reason why is because we really feel like it does what it claims to do. I notice my skin looks healthy, glow-y, and all around better-looking! I feel like this mask has allowed my make-up free face to look better and better with every use. I have not experienced any clogged pores or acne associated with using it either. This product has jived really well with my combo to oily skin and has kept my face hydrated in the spots where a little love is needed, but controlled my oil in the places I didn’t need any further hydration.
The ease of use is another reason why I love this mask. I will literally pop it on, forget it’s even there and accidentally attempt to walk out of my house before washing it off! It’s an all around great product.
The price of this mask is $45.00. Seems pretty steep at first, right?
While this mask is steeper in price, I have barely made a dent in mine and have owned it for several weeks now. I typically use this mask 2-3 times per week.
You truly only need a dime sized amount to cover your entire face. Trust me, I am the poster child for always feeling like I need to use triple the recommended amount, but this product has stripped me of my excessive product use ways!
If you like comparisons, I have owned the GlamGlow Super Mud Mask in the past and while I loved that product, it was gone in two months between Abby and I and costed around $59.00.
The Watermelon Glow Mask is on the pricey end when comparing it to drugstore skin care, but is more on the fair end when comparing it to higher end skin care.
Let’s say you like the idea of the Watermelon Glow Mask but you just can’t bring yourself to spend the money.
If you like what you’ve heard so far, go out girl and treat yourself to this mask! I know I’ll be re-purchasing it.
We hope you’ve found this review helpful and thank you all for reading,
Gabby and Abby
